The New Arena Map Is Here

A deep dive into our latest level design, what inspired us, and how it changes the meta.

The Design Process

When we first sat down to sketch the new arena, we knew it had to feel different. The old map favored long-range engagements, but we wanted something that rewarded aggressive, close-quarters play.

The layout draws inspiration from amphitheaters — a central pit surrounded by elevated platforms. Fighters in the center have sightlines cut by crumbling pillars and overgrown ruins, while snipers on the upper ring must contend with limited cover.

Verticality Is Everything

The biggest change is vertical flow. We added jump pads, grappling hooks, and destructible bridges that collapse mid-match. If you’re standing still, you’re already dead.

The map was designed with three core traversal paths:

  1. The Pit — high risk, high reward. Control the center and you control the power weapon spawns.
  2. The Ring — safer rotations with long sightlines, but exposed to grenade spam.
  3. The Undercroft — underground tunnels connecting all four quadrants. Fast rotations, but tight corridors make for deadly ambushes.

What’s Next

This is the first of three maps we’re shipping this quarter. The next one is a frozen tundra with dynamic weather. Stay tuned.
